Six times you've been chased out of town?? As long as you weren't doing anything wrong there and you were there during the day I don't see why anybody would chase you out. Maybe you should consider contacting the police department there and letting them know you are doing a school project so they can accompany you or at least they know that you don't mean any harm or vandalism since you are notifying them first. At that point, I would then let them know about the mysterious truck that 'chased' you. What do they do when they chase you? Ride your bumper or try to run you off the road? That would be a good reason to notify the authorities. They might want to check out the place to see if there is some type of illegal activity going on there that somebody doesn't want you to witness. Also, are you checking the place out at night or during the day? It would look very suspicious, of course, if you are there after dark and even a caretaker (if there is one) might want to chase you away from there.

The red glowing in the church window isn't as horrific as one might think. It comes from the altar. The votive candles are held in red glass holders. Nothing satanic about it. Church services are still held there every sunday, last I checked, as well as the occasional wedding.

Burnt down school? Can't say I'd heard about that one at all...

I have heard all the Helltown stories before, and I never believed them. Since I ski very actively every winter, I am always at Boston Mills and Brandywine. I have driven through the area many times, but I have never went to the Jait papermill, or over cry-baby bridge. But last night I decided to check out some recreational paths and hiking areas around Helltown. I started driving down Stanford Rd, and about halfway to the end I passed a Penninsula cop on-comming in the opposite direction. I kept driving till I reached the area where Stanford Rd. closes. I Made a left turn on Latta Ln. and pulled up a couple car lengths to turn around. Except when I pulled up, In my headlights i could see some signs that said "no tresspassing" and "posted" in the distance. At this point I was still more than 100 ft or more back from the signs and was not tresspassing or breaking the law in any way. I could see a pair of eyes glowing in the distance by the signs and a figure that looked like it was sitting on its hind-legs. It looked like it could have been a coyote or wolf or something. It definitely was around 3 or 4 feet tall. It was not a deer, and it didnt look like a dog because It had those nocturnal eyes that glow in the dark. So whatever this creature was, it was staring at me, so I backed up and turned around. Just as I started to go back the other way on Stanford Rd, the same cop (who had passed me earlier) apparently turned around and immediately pulled me over when he saw me driving back the other way. He told me that I was not alowed to be back in this area if I was looking for Helltown. I explained to him that I was simply searching for the hiking path, just as my intentions were. But he came right out and said that I could not be driving on this road. -What did I legally do wrong!!! -NOTHING! It really upsets me that a cop thinks that he can stereotype me for being some vandal (when in fact I'll be 30 soon) when I did nothing against the law. Does anybody know the legal boundaries of where one is allowed to go in the "helltown" area? I enjoy using the CVRP areas, and I don't like being told by some cop that I cannot be on a PUBLIC road, in an area where I AM CLEARLY NOT TRESSPASSING. Other than the eyes in the dark, -clearly an animal of some sort, there is nothing really to be scared of about Helltown. Why do the police automatically "label" you as a vandal if you are in the area?

Hey Everyone!
Well I was first introduced to Helltown this past summer. i had never heard of such a place. I am from bedford, and most of my friends go to Nordonia, Twinsburg and whatnot. So I have always known the area pretty well. My friends would sit around the campfire, and we would all either be drunk and / or stoned. So everything just sounded so real. I brought it up to some friends, we have always known of it as ( Mutane ). Well, last summer me and a few friends decided to drive out there, simply to go to the end of the world one night. Well I didn't know why it was called that, and when we went, it was one of the coolest things! You feel like ure gonna crash and die, and you don't. Pretty nice adrenaline rush.

We decided to turn around and go towards Main St, to leave by Boyden road, and then getting on Old Eight. Well... we were coming across a tiny bridge, no not Cry Baby bridge... but a small one. i said I had to pee, and I got out to pee in like this tiny little creek. I looked behind me, and there were 3 deer behind the car. My eyes filled with tears and I almots got piss all over my pants. Some people don't believe this when I tell them... but it happened and it was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. Because of the brake lights of the car, their eyes all looked red, which was more terrifying than them just being there. The two deers looked to be mocking eachother, making all of the same movements, and paying attention to the same area. The one in the middle was acting as the other two, and then I started turning around. The one in the middle looked me dead in the eyes, and I started feeling very very sick to ym stomache, light headed, and confused. It could have been because I was in fear. I started whispering to my friends "You guys... You guys..." and then my friends looked back and witnessed what was happening. The deer in the middle let out a huff, and then I tried to run for it, but right before I did, they tore off into the field. I got in the car and was talking to my friends about the 3 deer, and they said that I was retarded, and I said why. They said "There was only one..."

Believe what you want... but ever since I have had this odd obsession with the town, until I find out what is actually wrong with the area...

My Husbands Great Grandfather was D.H. Billings. We live in the family homested which he had built in 1886 in Peninsula, Oh. where he was the Funeral Director in the late 1800's into the early 1900's. Yes, sightings are regular here. We live about a mile down the road from Mater Delorosa Cemetery and less than a half mile from the Mother of Sorrows Church. My backyard and house are full of ghosts. thankfully none have been violent. I have a mother and young child that sits in my backyard , she is wearing a white long dress and hat, several children playing in the woods, an old man standing at my back door, and have seen on several occaisions a young gentleman dressed in civil war uniform standing near the Old Players Barn.
Upon taking photos in and outside my home we have tons of orbs floating around day and night.
I have a young boy that sleeps on the floor of one of the bedrooms I often step over thinking it's one of our children in the dark only to turn the light on and he's gone!

As for the covered bridge, we have been there many a times and yes, I've heard the baby crying usually late evening.

How lucky you are to have all that activity and also the ability to be able to perceive "them". Have you had any type of communication caught on EVP? Have you contacted any other gifted person to try to get their histories so that you can check out who they are? All the stories they could share, if only they could 'talk'! Our daughters took us back to the Bronson Church as a surprise for our 30th anniversary this summer since we got married there and took our pictures at the altar. We would have liked to have also got back into the GAR Hall but it was closed that afternoon and that was where we had our reception. It always feels like the veil is very thin in the entire area, not in a creepy way, but almost like a comforting connection with history. Does the historical society do any tours of the area? I'd much rather trust the info they would give over a tour that was just about myths of the area that would possibly lead to vandalism.
