shocked Hi, Ken! I noticed you had posted a picture I think from Red Lock that had a red-streaked orb with a misty tail on it...I have a photo from the night we investigated Lonesome Lock last year that I took in the clearing right past the lock, towards the direction of the train tracks. It, too, showed a red-streaked orb with a misty tail...could it be the same orb patrolling the lock system? wink Incidentally, I had a lot of trouble walking through that clearing-it took me three times and on the third I turned around and snapped a photo in the direction in which I was overcome with a nagging sense that I, or we, shouldn't be there...like we were intruding on someone or something's territorry and they weren't happy about us being there, disturbing their 'peace'. I just kept 'hearing' the message in my head that we weren't welcome and to get out of that general area. I also have some brighter orb photos from inside the lock itself which I took towards the direction I was 'drawn' to look in. The photo was taken about the same time we got an evp...I hope to get them scanned for you soon so that you can post them!

I was hiking in the Valley today, walked round trip from Boston to Peninsula. When walking back, approaching Lonesome Lock, I saw a translucent blueish/grey figure with no head move into the trees/brush from the towpath trail. The leaves/brush moved as the figure entered the woods. I was not totally sure what I had seen, and looked around where it went into the woods toward the west off the trail to the south of the lock. I knew nothing about the ghosts of this area previously, it was my first time hiking on this part of the towpath trail. Tonight I looked up a google search on "Lonesome Lock ghost," and discovered the story of the headless woman in the area. I was fairy sure I had seen a ghost, and after reading the history of this lock, I have no doubts. There is no question that I did in fact see the headless spirit today in total afternoon daylight.
